About

Over the course of nearly a decade, and two firms later, we decided to embark on this next chapter as a dynamic duo. Our years of experience in custom new builds, renovations, and procurement has provided us with the knowledge and expertise to create Belle & Olive Interiors.

A little bit about the company and how it came about. It is always complicated to find a name that blends both partners equally while simultaneously illustrating something of beauty. ABOUT KELSEY

Even as a young child, Kelsey Tucker was always thinking about design and aesthetics. "I loved rearranging the furniture and paint colors in my room as a little girl."  Art was also a passion of Kelsey's.  She grew up in San Diego where her mother was an art historian. Thus, Kelsey was surrounded by art and interacted with many artists throughout her childhood.

Kelsey went on to attend UC Irvine and graduated with a degree in Fine Arts with an emphasis in photography.  Shortly after graduation Kelsey attended the Interior Designers Institute while simultaneously pursuing a paid internship at one of the most prestigious design firms in Orange County. Training with an esteemed visionary allowed her to eventually project manage and lead some phenomenal design ventures.  Some of these have graced the cover of Architectural Digest, House Beautiful, and Luxe Magazine. That experience along with her training in AutoCAD at UCSD helped cement her skills in the field of interior design.

Kelsey is married to her college sweetheart and lives in Lake Forest with her husband, young daughter, Joey, and her beloved Golden Doodle, Olive. (She is the Olive in Belle and Olive.) Traveling is one of her passions, and if she had to move, Kelsey would pack up and settle in Scandinavia.  She once said, "If I wasn't doing design, I would be a psychologist. Making people feel good has always been a priority of mine. It also drives me in my visions for my clients. I want to bring their taste and interests in the creation of beautiful spaces where they can find peace and comfort."

ABOUT BRITTNEY

Born and raised in Laguna Beach, Brittney Colao is the third generation of her family to hold this distinction.  Brittney has always loved the aesthetics of this beautiful beach town and enjoys incorporating its distinct character in her work.  Interior design came a little later for Brittney. Her initial career was in the fashion industry.  After completing a business degree from San Diego State University, she worked in Los Angeles in the field of fashion.  However, when her husband's career brought them back to Orange County, Brittney was thrilled. Her family still resides in Orange County, and she knew it would be a perfect place to extend her career options and raise a family.

Arriving back in her hometown, Brittney decided to pursue another passion which was interior design. Her former boss in the fashion world loved buying and renovating homes in the Los Angeles area.  His interests in creating elegant spaces intrigued Brittney.  It seemed to her a perfect way to marry her love of fashion and aesthetics into a new career.

She enrolled in the Interior Designers Institute while simultaneously working for a top-level design firm in Orange County.

Brittney, her husband who is from Upstate New York, and their two young children reside in Costa Mesa. Her daughter's name is Ryan Belle, the inspiration for the name Belle and Olive. Her little son is Mason. Brittney's passions are in design, fashion, and travel.  Growing up so close to the ocean has also made her a life-long beach lover.

Together Kelsey and Brittney provide an exceptional design experience for their clients.  With their keen design sensibilities, they are able to create unique and layered spaces that feel curated and well-traveled. Forming spaces that are not only multi-dimensional and alluring, but livable are their true passions.
